Ingredients:
2/3 c. butter
5 oz. baking Chocolate, cut into pieces (1 cup of cocoa powder plus 3 tbsp of shortening)
1 3/4 c. Sugar
2 tsp. Vanilla
3 eggs
1 c. flour
1 c. Chopped walnuts (optional)
Directions:
Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom and sides of A 9 x 13 x 2 pan
Melt butter and Chocolate in 1-qt. Saucepan.
Over low heat, Stir constantly. Cool Slightly.
Beat Sugar, Vanilla and eggs in med. bowl w/ mixer ~5 min. Beat in Chocolate mixture on low speed. Beat in Flour until blended. Add walnuts and spread in pan.
Bake 30 min. or until brownies pull away from sides. Cool Completely.
Cut 4 rows x 4 rows. Spread w/ Chocolate frosting if desired before cutting

Frosting:
2 tbls. butter
2 oz unsweetened baking chocolate cut into pieces
2 c. Powdered Sugar
2-3 tbls water. (hot)
Melt butter & chocolate in 2-qt. Sauce pan over low
heat, Stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in powdered Sugar and hot water until smooth enough to spread
