Irresistible Pie Crust

Here it is lady’s and gentlemen. My best kept secret…..

Some people say “The secret is in the sauce” but I have to disagree, this time.

My family loves this recipe so much they will eat it without a filling.

So without further ado….

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz. All-purpose Flour (plus more to make the dough a smooth non sticky consistency)
  • 6 oz chilled butter
  • 2 oz chilled shortening
  • 3 Tablespoon Vinegar (white vinegar for savory pies and apple cider vinegar for fruit pies) if you choose you can substitute the vinegar with water
  • 1½ teaspoon Salt
  • 3 tsp sugar

Directions:

  • Sift the flour salt and sugar together.
  • Add the chilled butter and mix well
  • Add the chilled shortening and mix well
  • Add the vinegar and mix well
  • Divide in half by weight and shape into disc’s wrap in saran wrap and refrigerate from one hour to overnight
