Some people say “The secret is in the sauce” but I have to disagree, this time.
My family loves this recipe so much they will eat it without a filling.
So without further ado….

Ingredients:
- 12 oz. All-purpose Flour (plus more to make the dough a smooth non sticky consistency)
- 6 oz chilled butter
- 2 oz chilled shortening
- 3 Tablespoon Vinegar (white vinegar for savory pies and apple cider vinegar for fruit pies) if you choose you can substitute the vinegar with water
- 1½ teaspoon Salt
- 3 tsp sugar
Directions:
- Sift the flour salt and sugar together.
- Add the chilled butter and mix well
- Add the chilled shortening and mix well
- Add the vinegar and mix well
- Divide in half by weight and shape into disc’s wrap in saran wrap and refrigerate from one hour to overnight
