Caramel Corn

This is so easy it could be dangerous ⚠️. It still doesn’t stop me from making it 😉.


Ingredients:

  • Caramel sauce:
    • 240 g Sugar
    • 3 Tbs Butter
    • 300 ml Milk
  • Popcorn:
    • 2 Tbs Oil
    • 12 oz. Pop corn kernels

Directions:

Heat the oven to 250 degrees.

Start by making the popcorn and place the popcorn kernels in a large pot over medium heat. Add the vegetable oil. Frequently stir the kernels or shake the pot to keep the kernels moving. Once the popcorn is fully popped, dump the popcorn in a large bowl.

Next make the caramel sauce by pouring the sugar in a deep sauce pan and place it over medium heat. After a while it will begin melting and turning brown. Stir continuously until all the sugar is brown, completely melted and smooth. Add the butter. Stir until we’ll incorporated and fully melted. Keep stirring until smooth and creamy, again. Slowly add the milk a little at a time while still stirring.

When the caramel sauce is well mixed and once again smooth, creamy and thicker pour over the popcorn. Mix well until the popcorn is completely covered. Dump on a sheet of wax paper until it has cooled down to room temperature.

Transfer the popcorn to two separate cookie sheets. Place them in the oven. Bake for 45 min. Stirring every 15 min.

Cool and store in an air tight container and a dry place.
